The Taste

The combination of 60% Rye and 40% Bourbon, rested in port, wine and American oak barrels produces an uncommon and dramatically unique whiskey profile. The color has a bright golden amber hue. Pleasant aromas of vanilla-caramel balance with rich, full-flavors of almond, dark fruit and toasted oak. The finish is silky and smooth.

Our Methods

Redwood Empire's state-of-the-art distillery was built from the ground up on the site of a former apple processing plant in rustic west Sonoma County. At the centerpiece is an innovative, continuous micro-column still custom-built per our specifications.

Our mash-bill ingredient selection is a combination of rye, corn and malted barley.

Aging

Whiskey is greatly influenced by the environment inside the barrel, compounds in the wood, and especially where it has been charred on the interior, or previously used to age wine or port. Over time, these factors make a significant impact on a whiskey’s color and flavor.

Redwood Empire American Whiskey offers a unique combination of barrel blends featuring up to eleven years in high-char American oak casks and heirloom port and wine barrels. Each barrel is tasted and evaluated by our Head Distiller before composing the final blend.
