D. George Benham’s Vodka Vodka

We intended to call our spirit “Vodka flavored Vodka” but it didn’t pass muster with the TTB.  Apparently, vodka is not an official government-approved flavor for vodka, so we’ve taken to calling our spirit “Vodka Vodka” instead.  The name reflects our desire to capture true vodka character of our vodka.

The Taste

Our D. George Benham’s Vodka Vodka is clean and crisp, with delicate floral, fruity aromas and flavors, along with a hint of toasty spice and rich creaminess that carries through to the finish. The balanced flavor profile lends itself to a wide range of classic
and contemporary cocktails.

Our Methods

Our method of production is designed to bring out crisp, rich flavors in the spirit. We start with a neutral base of organic wheat and grape spirits, then adding our own rye and wheat distillates. Each of the four components is distilled separately on our micro column continuous still and blended into a harmonious, balanced spirit. By engaging all four columns of our still, we are able to distill delightfully smooth vodka that retains the unique characteristics of each component: creamy, toasty richness from the wheat; floral fruitiness from the grape, and spicy structure from the rye.

After distillation, D. George Benham’s Vodka Vodka is proofed down with water from our 246-foot deep well which draws from a natural Russian River tributary. We reduce the water's naturally high mineral content through reverse osmosis, adding a bright, crisp flavor component to our vodka. We then gently filter the spirit through neutral charcoal to amplify the smooth texture of the vodka prior to bottling.
